Assault
Aggravated assault is an intentional threat, by word or act, to do violence to the person of another, coupled with an apparent ability to do so, and committing some act, which creates a well-founded fear in the person. What makes the assault “aggravated” is the use of a deadly weapon or the intent to commit a felony. Simple assault does not involve a weapon or intent to commit a felony.
